How long do the corundum whetstones last?
The service life of the corundum whetstones depends on the use. The whetstone Extra-Fine wears off faster than the whetstone Fine make sure that your knife is sharpened on both sides with the Standard Diamond and the Ceramic Honing Disc before using
How can I clean the corundum whetstones?
You can clean the Fine/Extra-Fine whetstone by rubbing them gently in circles against each other. If you only have one of the whetstones, you can clean it with some sandpaper or an eraser.
In which order do I grind with the Premium Sharpening Package?
Basically, the coarsest grain size is used first and the finest is used last. We start with the HORL diamond to grind the knife completely. Afterwards Fine stone, Extra-Fine stone and finally the HORL leather.
The HORL premium sharpness set brings out the full sharpness potential of particularly fine blades. The set is suitable for HORL2 and HORL2 Pro. The set is not compatible with the HORL2 Cruise.
The extra-fine #3000 grit corundum whetstone disc optimises and refines the result of the standard diamond grinding disc. After this, the very ultra-fine #6000 grit corundum whetstone disc brings out even more sharpness and ensures an even smoother cutting bevel.
Both corundum whetstones can be used without water.
A final strop with the HORL leather delivers the ultimate edge.
