Both the nylon and organic cotton versions of the Kleynhuis Greek Yogurt Strainer Pouch now come standard with a back loop that is part of the unique, patent pending design! For those who like to hang their pouches, this added feature allows you to thread the main string through the loop and will help keep the pouch opening upright, so that yogurt does not escape.

The Kleynhuis Strainer Pouch Idea

I’ve been a long-time fan of making my own yogurt, but never liked any of the methods I found out there to strain it. Cheesecloth was too messy and/or wasteful. I tried coffee filters, but didn’t like that I’d need to use several at a time. Other ways were plastic, expensive, or awkward to store.

So, I had an idea to make my own yogurt strainer. I designed and sewed the pattern for the original prototype; I made more Greek yogurt and tweaked the design; and then I spent a year figuring out how to make it available to others.
