NT professional mat cutter series CUT-45 is designed for cutting 45 degree angle bevel straight edge on mat boards and styrene boards. The grip is made of durable high grade ABS plastic to withstand heavy use, and the body is made of glass fiber reinforced polypropylene making it lighter than the existing model MAT-45P. Perfect to frame artworks and make decorative frames such as photo frames and picture frames. To make architectural models, use this 45 degree cutter to cut mat boards into 45 degree bevel edges and join the edges together for a neat corner. Oval shaped ergonomic grip is set lower and fits in hand comfortably for stability and control. Blade depth can be adjusted depending on the thickness of the material to be cut. This convenient and economical blade has four cutting edges so when it’s time to change your blade, simply turn the blade to an unused side. Blade retracts automatically when not in use for safety. High quality blade is made from chromium and tungsten added carbon tool steel for higher abrasion resistance and produced through multiple stages of precise process to obtain the ultimate sharpness and optimum edge-retention. Non-slip rubber base is included to assist in keeping straight edge in place when cutting. Made in Japan. Tips for a clean cut: 1) If you are a first-time user, you many need some practice to use this professional mat board cutter. 2) Do not force the cut with one stroke. You will get a cleaner cut if you carefully score the mat and cut over it a few times until it cuts through. 3) Slightly over cut the 4 corners of the mat for a nice sharp cutout. 4) Do not stick the blade out too far. Position the blade point about 0.3mm out of the mat board. 5) Use a thick, wide ruler to guide your cut along the lines. Included with this cutter are non-slip seals which you can cut-to-size and attached to the underside of your ruler for extra stability.
