Product Description

Dishwasher heating elements are essential components that are responsible for heating water and drying dishes. They ensure that the water reaches the appropriate temperature for cleaning and also help with the drying process by heating the air inside the dishwasher.
Common Issues with Heating Elements
Dishwasher Not Heating: Could be due to a faulty heating element, thermostat, or wiring issue. Test each component to identify the problem.Inconsistent Heating: Might indicate a malfunctioning thermostat or a partially damaged heating element.Overheating: If the water is too hot, the thermostat might be malfunctioning, causing the heating element to stay on longer than necessary.
How to Check and Maintain Heating Elements
Inspect for Visible Damage – Cracks or Burn Marks: Look for any physical damage or signs of wear on the heating element. | Corrosion: Check for signs of corrosion or buildup around the terminals. Test the Heating Element – Multimeter Test: Use a multimeter to check the continuity of the heating element. If there’s no continuity, the element is likely faulty and needs replacement. | Temperature Test: Verify that the heating element is reaching the appropriate temperature during the wash cycle. Check the Thermostat or Temperature Sensor – Functionality: Ensure the thermostat or temperature sensor is working correctly to regulate the water temperature. | Calibration: Test and calibrate if necessary to ensure accurate temperature readings. Clean the Heating Element – Debris: Remove any buildup or debris that could affect the efficiency of the heating element. | Descaling: If there is limescale or mineral buildup, clean the element with appropriate descaling solutions. Verify Electrical Connections – Secure Connections: Ensure that the terminals and connections are secure and free from damage. | Wiring: Check for any damaged or frayed wires leading to the heating element.

Function of Dishwasher Heating Elements
Heating
The heat generated by the heating element is transferred to the surrounding water in the dishwasher’s tub. This occurs through direct contact and convection. The dishwasher’s thermostat or temperature sensor monitors the water temperature to ensure it reaches the desired level.

Drying
In condensation drying, the heating element warms the air inside. When the air comes into contact with the cooler surfaces of the dishwasher walls/door, the moisture condenses into droplets. The condensed water drains away/wipes off by the drying action of the heating element and air circulation.
